A Race Night to Remember!

What a night! We left for Race Night and the weather was ok. It was starting to rain at our house, but we thought the track would be fine as it's happened so many times before that it's raining here and not there.

I registered Justin, got Ashleigh set up on her blanket with her books and crayons and Chris went to help out.

Then, all of a sudden it started to RAIN...HARD! We didn't think it would last that long...it didn't stop for at least 15 minutes!

Some people dashed to their cars, so under trees, some under umbrellas and some just soaked it in.

Finally it looked like it was going to let up, so they announced Races would begin. :0) They just needed some time to sweep the water off the track and stuff and dig dry dirt out of the side of the track to fill in the puddles!







Justin did well. He placed 4th, 7th, 6th. Here is a picture of him at "staging". That's where all the kids line up and wait their turn to race. Chris helped out here.

It ended later than usual, but glad the kids got to race and not too many people slipped on the track ;0)
