August 29th, we awoke bright and early and left Port Coquitlam to catch one of two ferries to Powell River. In Powell River, we visited Chris aunt and uncle and Grandma and cousins, as well as Chris' dad (Grandpa Ron) and step mom (Grandma Pam). We also attended a friend's wedding reception on August 30th.
We took soooo many pictures.
Some highlights:
*Going for a boat ride on Chris' dad's boat on the ocean. Finally!!! I have been waiting a long long time for this!!!!!!! (since Christmas 2005)
*Chris, Justin and Grandpa Ron going fishing and catching two red snapper fish.
*Ashleigh and Grandma Pam went shopping for Ashleigh's birthday.
*Not having to cook.
*Shelby's (our puppy) first "road trip".
*Four out of us five (including Shelby) almost got car sick.
*One of us (Shelby) got car sick.
*Chris and I went out on a "DATE" to a sushi restaurant to celebrate our 10 years married.
September 5th, we awoke early and left for Port Coquitlam and spent two nights with the same friends we stayed with on the way down.
September 7th, we went to church in Port Coquitlam that we used to attend before moving to Vernon. It was so good to see the Pastor and a few friends. After church, we went to Aldergrove to see Chris' brother and family. Justin and Ashleigh hadn't seen their cousin Tika (age 6.5) since we moved over a year ago...so nice to see each other again.
6:00pm September 7th, we arrived home.
It was so good to be home. It was a rough week, settling in, but so far this week is going much better!
Last week, we also begun home schooling Justin. Ashleigh takes part in some things too. She is actually very good at amusing herself. Ofcourse, getting an early birthday present (from Grandpa Ron and Grandma Pam) containing 600 Princess Stickers and a whole bunch of Princess coloring pages has helped ;0)
